Salvador Dali was born in 1904 in Spain.  He was expelled from art school and went to Paris.  He joined a group of other artists making Surrealist art.  Dali created art with many different materials including paint, sculpture, jewelry and film.  He liked to shock people and is also famous for his strange clothes and very unusual moustache.  He died in 1989.
