Lower Primary Maths Games Posters

Set of 6 – Laminated A2 (595mm x 420mm)

Teaching young students the fundamentals of number is central to their mathematical learning. Students need a range of experiences so that they can read, write, say, draw, count, order and pattern numbers up to and beyond 100, while learning about place valueaddition, subtraction, multiplication, division, moneyfractions and solving problems.

The mathematics games are underpinned by a developmentally appropriate approach to learning. They are designed to foster the learning of important mathematical concepts rather than just practise mathematics ideas. The skills needed to complete the games require more than mathematical understandings. Students need to be able to manipulate the mathematics materials and link their understandings to quantity, the four operations and their knowledge of symbols. The games allow all students to learn in a friendly and supportive environment.

The mathematics games in this series for 5-9-year-olds have a focus on guided play and early number mathematics outcomes. They have been designed to give students the opportunity to have some fun when learning. The games include a progression of whole number place value knowledge from early number up to and beyond 100 (at times into the thousands). The students are involved in reading, writing, manipulating materials and drawing whole numbers. We also have Interactive version of these games!
