How do people who have experienced trauma and painful situations in life cope? Where do they find the resilience and resourcefulness that will help them to rise above their circumstances? In When Mourning Breaks, Anthony Yeo revisits some of his therapeutic journeys with clients who have taught him that the human spirit is indomitable. As Anthony recounts his counselling sessions in each of these case studies, we are given a glimpse into the journeys that he took in helping each client. Much as they were helped by him, he too learnt precious lessons in life from them. He learnt how not to give up on life even when life is ebbing away, how to laugh in the midst of pain; how to turn tragedy into victory; and how to find self worth and meaning in life even when society deems you incapable of doing so. Whether you are going through tough times yourself, or helping someone else for whom mourning has broken, it is our hope that the journeys that have been captured in this book will light the way ahead.
