This is a Victoria Carlton's balanced literacy approach that incorporates ‘CREAM’ strategies specifically developed from the Victoria Carlton programs. 

During this PRACTICAL workshop, you will learn:

Day 1 to 2: Jolly Phonics and Grammar

• The philosophy and method of JOLLY PHONICS
• JOLLY PHONICS and rhyming skills: Actions and sounds and blending skills
• Suggested format of a JOLLY PHONICS lesson
• Grammar games and activities
• Beginning written expression strategies and successful spelling

Day 3: Literacy Garden

• Phonological awareness
• Teaching the alphabet
• Basic phonics and word families
• Teaching SIGHT WORDS
• Early Reading stages
• Early writing stages
• Building comprehension with structured reading books and PICTURE BOOKS
• Planning literacy sessions
• Evaluation of literacy skills- identification of strengths and weaknesses

This evidence based course will leave you energised, excited and competent to teach more effective lessons.

Optional: Jolly Phonics certification test and Jolly Grammar certification tests at $480 each will be conducted at the end of the day 2.
